Teeth can be discolored for many reasons. Discoloration can be caused by aging, tobacco, coffee, tea, soft drinks, wine and other beverages and foods. As your dental professionals, we can offer you a few choices for whitening:
In office ZOOM whitening is done at the dental office, and it jump-starts the whitening process, where you can see results right away. You will be sent home with a take home kit to keep the process going.
Nite-White home whitening can be dispensed through our office for use at home. You will have custom made trays and your teeth will become whiter and whiter over several applications.
The ADA recommends that you only use a bleaching product after talking with a dentist. This is especially important for patients with many fillings, crowns, or dark stains. We need to examine your teeth carefully to see if bleaching is the effective treatment for you.
There is such a thing as too much bleaching. Do not use whitening products for longer than the product directions or your dentist tells you. Over whitening can cause severe sensitivity and discomfort to your teeth and gums.
