Valley Dental Group is excited to announce Dr. Douglas Carter has joined the team! Dr. Carter has extended hours to offer more time to our patients for their oral surgery needs.  In addition, Dr. Carter will be accepting outside referrals for oral surgery.

Dr. Doug Carter is a native of Fairmont, MN. He attended St. Cloud State University obtaining his B.A. in Biomedical Science (Cum Laude).  Following this, he attended the University Of Minnesota School Of Dentistry receiving his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with honors.  Dr. Carter then joined the United States Navy as a General Dentist stationed at Naval Air Station North Island, San Diego CA and with the Marines at Camp Pendleton California serving in Saudi Arabia in Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm.

Dr. Carter then returned to his home state of Minnesota to complete his residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Minnesota. Since that time, he has practiced in the western suburbs of the Twin Cities for the past 19 years, joining Valley Dental Group in November 2015.

Dr. Carter’s professional memberships include the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Association (ADA), Minnesota Dental Association, and Minneapolis District Dental Society.

In his free time Dr. Carter enjoys spending time with his family, lake activities, running, and biking.
